You can quickly see what's happening on all of your projects from the global view. For example, if you need to see time entries across all projects, just navigate to the global Timecard section where you'll see all the time entries, what project they are associated with, any notes associated with them, who submitted each one, etc. You also have the capability to sort on any column as in the screenshot below of the Timecard section headers and also filter by person to find what you need quickly.
Most importantly, you can easily make changes from the global sections in your project management app if needed. This includes marking items complete, adding time entries, editing entries such as tasks or tickets, moving calendar events with drag and drop, and much more. SInce there are lots of moving parts in each project, this helps speed things along and let's you stay focused on the important things. Each project in Projecturf includes a Tasks section for creating tasks and subtasks and assigning them to staff members, clients, and managers on the project. After assigning tasks to users and setting due dates, you can easily track when tasks are completed, changed, or become overdue. To get notified of new tasks, completed tasks, and when tasks are edited, you can use the Dashboard section to view latest activity, subscribe to the Daily Progress Report email, use the RSS feeds, or allow email notifications for updates. When a task becomes late, the end date automatically turns red to notify you it is overdue as shown below.
When viewing your task lists, you can use the built-in filters to view tasks by person and to view incomplete or completed tasks. You can also use the quick sorting options to see them in the order you prefer as described here. These filters and sorting options let you quickly see the tasks that are due today, tasks that were completed, and the tasks that have upcoming deadlines for each person on the project.
You can also view and track the task lists across all projects from the Global Tasks section. If you want to see the overall workloads for each person, the Reports section includes a Global Task Assignment report for easily managing resources.
Another useful tool to get a quick overview of all tasks on your project is the Project Completion Report, which displays the status of every task and subtask (overdue tasks are also shown in red here), the due date, duration, who's responsible, and % complete. This report can be filtered and sorted based on your preferences. Visit this previous blog post to learn more about using the Project Completion Report in your project management tool.
Projecturf allows you to store and share bookmarks and code snippets in each one of your projects. Adding bookmarks is simple and let's you keep a list of all the URL's that you need for a project and want to share. You can also store login information, add a name, and create a description for the link when entering the web address. Once you've added a link, click on the name and from there you can open it, delete it, or save changes to it. Bookmarks are added in the Tickets section and are accessible by anyone on the project. The Global Tickets section lists the bookmarks across all of your projects in one place. Adding bookmarks comes in handy when you need to share links with the project team or client, and also to store and remember important URL's.
Adding and sharing code snippets is just as easy as sharing bookmarks and is a useful tool for developers. You can copy and paste code from any programming languages directly into your project. To add your code, navigate to the Tickets section of your project and click the "+" button next to code snippets. Simply give it a name, select a language, and paste in your code. You can open the code at any time by clicking on the name you gave it. This is shared with everyone on a project and is also added into the Global Tickets section for quickly accessing code snippets for any projects. Visit our support center to learn more about uploading and sharing code snippets.
Every project in Projecturf has it's own calendar and set of contacts. You will typically have the same contact assigned to multiple projects, and therefore you'll want a quick way to check each users availability when adding a new event. By using the check attendee availability button in the add new panel on the calendar, you will be able to immediately see if there are any conflicts. As shown in the video below, clicking the check attendee availability button will show who is busy during the selected time. By navigating to the Global Calendar, you can see what has already been scheduled and the project the event is associated with. This will help you easily schedule meetings and events and make changes on the fly.
The current Projecturf design and layout is the result of over a year spent in the lab refining every last detail with pixel-perfect precision and throughly testing each component. Projecturf was designed with the end user in mind to offer an intuitive and flexible project management software which is easy to navigate and customize, has practically no learning curve, significantly improves productivity, is aesthetically pleasing, and is enjoyable to use.
Here are some key components of the User Interface that differentiate Projecturf and make managing your projects simple:
The UI is a top priority for us in order to create the best possible experience for our users. Clients and employees will learn how to navigate and fully utilize Projecturf in minutes.
We've just released drag and drop functionality on the custom Gantt charts. Now you can update your project schedules by quickly dragging or resizing tasks and subtasks right in the Gantt chart. You can use the global Gantt chart to make changes across all of your projects in one place or use the project Gantt chart for updating a single project. Filters are included on the top of the chart in order to view specific time periods, only show tasks and subtasks for a specific user, and to add/remove subtasks. There are also several sorting options available when displaying the chart.
To learn more about how the new drag and drop Gantt charts work, watch this short video tutorial:
We have added a printer-friendly format to the global and project level calendars. You can now easily print out calendars from any browser and include both your events and tasks. Use the filtering bar to choose events, tasks, or all. After selecting an option, simply click on the printer icon to the far right on the filtering bar and you will see your calendar in print preview format, where you can quickly print.
We have also updated the calendar to include your project start and end dates. Due dates can be set from the Project Settings page and start dates are set when creating a new project. Along with showing on the Global Dashboard, the project dates are now displayed on the global and project calendars.
To notify you if a project is overdue, it will show up in red on the dashboard when past the due date. These project management tools will enhance your project visibility and tracking.
With the new version of Projecturf, you can make changes to any of your projects using the Global Dashboard sections. Since the sections on the Global tab are used to view updates across all your projects, these enhancements will significantly speed up your work and help you get things done quickly. This provides a simple way to make changes while viewing everything in one place. You no longer need to enter a specific project to make the following changes:
Additionally, if you wish to quickly drill down into a specific item such as a task, just click on the task from the Global Calendar or Global Tasks section and it will filter to that project and task. These new features were a result of customer feedback. To share ideas for your project management application and cast votes on existing requests, go to the Projecturf suggestion forum.
We have just released version 3.0 which is available to all new and existing customers. The new version of Projecturf has over 30 new features and enhancements and includes a major redesign of the User Interface.
Here is a list of several new features and functionality added in version 3.0:
We're very excited about sharing Projecturf 3.0 with you and we hope you enjoy the new version and all Projecturf has to offer! We will be describing each of the new project management software features in more details over the coming weeks so stay tuned.
We added new options for filtering your data in version 2.1. At both the global and project levels, you can quickly filter by person for Calendar events and Tasks by selecting a name from the drop down menu on the right side of the black bar. This makes it very simple to view someone's workload and to see what is planned for yourself or others. Here is an example of a filter from the Calendar section:
Projecturf also applies filtering tags in the Timecard and Development sections to easily add and remove filters. If filtering by billable items as seen here, a tag will appear and you can click to remove the filter.
These new project management tool enhancements help streamline the workflow and make it much easier to view your project data.
